Computer-aided Stained Glass design.
glasseye 2000
There are a number of programs that can help with stained glass designing.
The only one we have experience in is Glass Eye 2000. A free trial version is
available from the Glass Eye 2000 website (see bottom of page).

The menu bar contains tools for drawing and connecting the lead or foil lines.
Down the left side of the screen are glass samples which can be selected from all the major manufacturers.
Rulers allow you to design to full size and you can zoom in to adjust details.
The software is VERY fully featured and explained in depth on their site. We particularly like being able to try
different combinations of glass and line widths, but our favorite feature is placing a photo of the existing view behind
the design so that it can be seen through clear parts of the design. In this screen-shot, the mottled grey/white parts
of the design are from a site photo of sunlight shining through a tree onto a white wall.

In this screenshot a window is being designed on top of a photo of an existing kitchen window.
parts of the design have been left clear so that the background can become part of the window.
